Count Pelicula's Theater of Horror

Cancelled…

Hey America,

so it is a very very sad day here at Count Pelicula-Land. Our show is no more my friends. Our sponsors have pulled out and left us with no way to pay for air time. But I do have two bits of good news;

1. The movies will still air Saturday night however without sketches.

2. We will be putting up sketches on YouTube for the “Lost Season”. A bunch of movies that never aired but that we spoofed anyways.  Like Tales From The Crypt, Abbott and Costello Meet The Killer and others.

On a more personal note I know that myself and the rest of the cast would like to thank all of you for tuning in every week. The fans have been amazing and we really did try to make the show all about you guys. Especially all of you that have blogged with us, you guys kept the show alive for an entire year. Seriously, Thank YOU!

I will try to keep the website going just for us horror fans to chat and blog about horror anyways. But I can’t promise that it will be updated regularly.

and remember if you want to write the Tube and complain, we will not stop you…

Again thank you America this has been a great experience

Love,

The Count

    Pelicula’s Theatre of Horrors will be greatly missed.

    The proverbial writing on the wall was The Tube’s refusal to add new movies to the rotation. Too expensive I guess.

    I still think Pelicula’s future, if any, lies with a web based show. How that would be funded, I have no idea.

    Not sure what to do with the Yahoo Group fan club “Hail to the Count”, but I’m not deleting it.

    Sad news indeed.

    I want to send my thanks out to everyone that was involved in Pelicula. It one amazing experience and I’m very grateful (with the exception of doing some really awkward Disco Dan episodes). And also a huge thanks to the fans who kept our craziness going for a year! It was a great year.

    What a drag, I am so sorry that you all got shafted like that! The kids and I tuned in for Tarantula, The Wolfman, and The Bride of Frankenstein recently and we were totally underwhelmed by the increased number of commercials and the glaring lack of the Pelicula players with their amusing sketch bits. It really is a shame. Robin’s observation about The Tube’s refusal to add new movies to the rotation is right on…if they don’t have you guys to UMPH up the show with your entertaining antics then it’s gonna go stall real fast without a new crop of movies on the roster. In my opinion it was a bad move on The Tube’s part. Maybe that’s way they call it the ‘boob Tube’?

    Thanks guys, it was fun while it lasted!
